How do you get a CFO to say yes to a marketing budget?

Show the odds of breaking even, not last year’s average.

For years I’ve built marketing budgets the same way. Start with the revenue target, work backward through average conversion rates, and land on a spend number. It looks clean in the planning meeting. It falls apart when channels saturate, costs shift, or a small market has a fluke quarter.

This short video shows another way to plan. It borrows two ideas from aerospace and financial risk management to run a budget through thousands of possible quarters. You walk into the CFO’s office with the odds of breaking even instead of one number and a lot of hope.

That kind of analysis used to take a data science team. AI tools now put it within reach of any marketer.

The figures in the video are an illustrative example, not client results.
